This summer I taught several classes at the Evanston Art Center.  They were a blast.  I had two Architecture courses and one on Mathematics and Art.  We did a lot of building.  I taught the kids how to do design and mockups of structures, and they learned how to use power drills, coping saws, hammer and nails, jigsaws, hot glue guns, etc.  Everyone went home with all their fingers. We made Playgrounds, Treehouses and Geodesic Domes in miniature. Here’s a couple of shots I took of their work:

I was also invited to participate in the Useful Pictures exhibit organized by Adelheid Mers.
Gan Uyeda spent an afternoon interviewing me about my artistic practice, and the potential of the Evanston Art Center as a rejuvenated creative space. Above is the visual map we created that afternoon anchored by a commemorative set of Andy Warhol Campbell’s soup cans (thanks, Jodi Shapiro!).
